Flo copies the CV’s own words into a template. It never rewrites them. You check the result beside the original before it goes anywhere.

Format a CV

  1. Open the candidate and select the Files tab.
  2. Select Format CV, then In your default template. To hide the name and contact details, select Anonymised.
  3. The CV opens as its review: the original on the left, Flo’s version on the right.
  4. Read Flo’s checks on the right before you send it (see below).
  5. Select Download, then Word (.docx) for a client who edits or forwards it, or PDF for exactly what you see.
Prepare CV out on an application formats the CV the same way. Select Open on the CV line to review it.

Use it for CV out

Select Use for CV out above the page. If the candidate is on more than one job, pick the application. The CV becomes the one CV out sends, and CV out opens on that application. A CV formatted on the candidate is copied onto the application without the email, phone and LinkedIn, with your edits and the same template.

Switch template

Select Template above the page and pick another. Each template shows a small sample page beside its name. The page is laid out again at once, and your edits and Flo’s changes stay. Undo goes back to the template and page you had. Your default is your own default template if you chose one, otherwise the agency’s. On a phone, one page shows at a time: select Original or Formatted to switch. The line under them says what is left to check; select it to see Flo’s checks. Download, Ask Flo and Use for CV out are at the bottom.

Edit the CV

  1. Select Formatted. The page’s fields show on the left, in the template’s section order.
  2. Select a line to edit it. Bold (⌘B) and links are the only formatting: the template sets the rest.
  3. Press Enter or click away to save. The page on the right redraws.
  4. Select the bin beside a line to delete it. Undo takes back the last change, once: it then goes away until you change the CV again.
To change this CV only, type or dictate to Flo in Ask Flo to change the CV, for example “for this client, add the hobbies back at the end”. Your request shows above Flo’s answer. Flo uses only the CV’s own words.

Make a CV template

Any member can make one. Templates you save to the agency are for everyone.
  1. Go to Settings › Templates, then CV templates, and select New template.
  2. Drop a CV whose look you like, or tell Flo what you want: “Navy headings, skills before experience. Experience: last 10 years, no more than 4 bullets. Education: degree and school only”. Select the microphone to dictate. You can do both.
  3. Flo formats a real CV from your agency with it. How Flo read it lists each rule by section, marked You said or From your example, with what it dropped from the sample. Hover a rule to see the lines.
  4. Refine by telling Flo (“forget the 10-year rule”), or select × on a rule to remove it. Try on another candidate checks it on a different CV.
  5. Name it, choose Agency templates or My templates, and select Save template.

The Owner and Admins choose the agency’s default. You can make one of your own templates your default from its … menu.

What templates can’t do yet

Flo tells you when a request isn’t a rule it can apply. Fonts and keeping a CV to one page aren’t rules yet: every CV uses Be Vietnam Pro, which shows every Vietnamese accent in Word and in the PDF.
