# Join your agency as a consultant

> You were invited to an agency in Hire. Sign in, connect your own accounts and pick up the work that's already there.

In this tutorial you join an agency your Owner has already set up. Its jobs, clients and candidates are in Hire. You connect your own calendar, Echo and Gmail, then start working. It takes about 15 minutes.

## Before you start

* You have the invitation email from Hire. It works only for the address it was sent to, and it expires after 7 days. If it has expired, ask your Owner or an Admin to select **Resend** in **Settings › Members**.
* Read [How Hire works](/guides/explanation/how-hire-works) for the method your agency follows.

## 1. Sign in and join

1. Open the invitation email and follow its link.
2. Sign in with the invited address, either with its Google or Microsoft account or with **Continue with email** and the code Hire sends.
3. If your agency requires two-step sign-in, Hire shows **Set up two-step verification**. Scan the code with an authenticator app, type the code it shows, and save the backup codes.
4. Type **Your name**, then select **Join** with your agency's name.

Hire opens on Today, with your agency's Jobs already on it.

## 2. Connect Gmail, your calendar and Echo

Each member connects their own accounts. Nobody else sees your connections. Today's **Get started** checklist lists each step, with the next one highlighted: **Connect Gmail**, your calendar (**Google** or **Outlook**), **Connect Echo**, then **Review** the people Hire found. Follow [Get started](/guides/get-started): it says what each connection adds, what Hire reads and keeps, and how to review the people it finds.

## 3. Find your work

* **Today › Jobs** lists every Job your team is working. Each open Job ends with its next step: **Shortlist**, **Reach out** or **Send CVs**.
* **Jobs**, **Companies**, **Contacts** and **Candidates** hold the whole agency's records. Filter by owner to see your own.
* **Companies › Targets** holds the BD list, Tier 1 first. Select **Mine** for the targets you own. Your Owner or Manager may also have set a daily BD calls target, which shows on Today.
* **Tasks** holds what's due, and **To review** the changes Flo proposes for you.

## What a consultant can do

Everyone in an agency sees every record. What you can change depends on whose it is. Owners and Admins can do everything in the right-hand column. Managers can do most of it for their team, but not settings, members or another member's import.

| You can | You can't |
| - | - |
| Create Companies, Contacts, Candidates and Jobs | Change settings, invite members or change roles |
| Edit and move the Jobs, Applications and Targets you own | Edit or move another member's Job, Application or Target |
| Add any Candidate to any Job, and log activity on any record | Set anyone's targets in **Settings › Targets** |
| Import spreadsheets and data, and undo your own import | Undo another member's import, merge duplicates or delete a Company or Contact |
| Approve or deny Flo's proposals made for you | Approve a proposal made for someone else |
| Edit any Note | Change another member's Placement or Task |

When you ask Flo to change a record someone else owns, Flo sends the change to its owner to approve.

## What you did

You joined the agency, connected your calendar, Echo and Gmail, and found the Jobs, Targets and Tasks waiting for you.
