# How to record an offer

> Move a candidate to Offer, confirm the start date and fee, and turn an accepted offer into a placement.

An offer is a stage. Move the application to **Offer** when the client makes one, and Flo helps you close it.

## Steps

1. Move the application to **Offer**, from the Pipeline or the application page. Or approve the move Flo proposes after the final round, as it did for Vũ Thị Hồng Nhung after her CFO interview.
2. Flo proposes a task, "Confirm start date and fee: \<candidate> at \<company>", from the Rule **Offer: confirm start date and fee**. Approve it in **Tasks › To review**.
3. When the candidate accepts, select **Offer accepted** on the application. It moves to **Placed** and opens **Create placement**.

## What happens next

* **Create placement** asks for the start date, the guarantee, the agreed salary, the fee, the invoice terms and the billing contact. Nothing is created until you confirm. See [How to manage a placement](/guides/how-to/manage-a-placement).
* When you log a call where the candidate gives a start date, the Rule **Offer accepted: move to Placed** proposes the move for you.

## Troubleshooting

* **The candidate declines.** Set **Closed reason** to **Offer declined**.
* **No Offer accepted button.** You can't edit this application. Ask its consultant, the Job's owner or an Admin.
