# How to open a CV or file

> Read a CV, JD, salary sheet or image beside the record and Flo, without downloading it.

1. Open a Job, Candidate, Application, Company or Contact and select its **Files** tab.
2. Select a file. Hire switches to viewer mode: your files on the left, the file in the middle, Flo docked on the right.

The toolbar has previous and next, **Open in new tab**, **Download**, the file's actions and close. With Flo closed, **Ask Flo** asks about the open file.

## What opens

* **PDF:** the browser's viewer. Where the browser has none, and on phones, use Download or Open in new tab.
* **Word (DOCX):** drawn in the page.
* **Excel (XLSX):** a read-only table with sheet tabs.
* **Images:** shown as they are.
* **DOC and others:** no preview. Download it, or read the text Hire stored at upload.

Files are served from Hire's storage in Singapore through short-lived links. Hire never sends them to Google or Microsoft viewers.

<Tip>Copy the page address to share a file with a colleague. It opens the same file.</Tip>
